This song is all about somebody who cannot be wrong. Somebody who hurts others by deflecting and projecting their inner negativity and sorrows. Everybody has known one of these types at some point (and if you haven't, you just might be that person! LOL), but in all seriousness, you'll probably meet one just as bad or worse sometime in the future. This track is REALLY for all of those passive people out there who take that shit everyday - from their boss, co-worker, neighbours, step-parents, etc - and put up with it on the daily. Also, this was my first song to ever include a drum machine.
lyrics
Do you feel inadequate
Is that what makes you act like a prick
I don’t think it’s an accident
That you are that way, everyday
Do you want to start a fight
Do you feel you’re always right
Do you do everything out of spite
Do you think it’s some kind of slight
Do you feel like you’re the best
Better than all the rest
I’d rather take an acid test
Than to be with you, another day
Did you ever listen to me, or did you just see right through me
I never wanted a contest, I was never really even impressed
Do you feel like I’m a threat
Is that why you are always on edge
It doesn’t really even make sense
Why you treat me this way, every time
Do you feel inadequate
Is that what makes you act like a prick
I don’t think it’s an accident, that you are that way - everyday
That you are that way - everyday, that you are that way - everyday
That you are that way - everyday, that you are that way - everyday
